Membership Rules and Guidelines
General
Acceptance of this membership card by the member implies acceptance and observation of the Rules and Bye-Laws of Bandon Angling Association. This card is non-transferable.
Members are required, when fishing, to have their Membership cards in their possession and produce them for inspection by other members, water keepers, or riparian owners. Members must possess their Member ID cards and display windscreen stickers and/or dashboard cards clearly for the relevant year.
Civility must be shown to water keepers, other members, fishery officers, and riparian owners. Landowners' property must be respected at all times. Basic angling etiquette must be exercised on club waters at all times:
Basic Angling Etiquette
- When approaching a pool, ensure no other angler is fishing. If someone is fishing:
- Allow them to fish through the pool and come back later.
- Alternatively, ask if you can begin fishing at the head of the pool if they have fished down a sufficient length and are nearing the end.
- If fishing in a pool and aware of other anglers in the immediate area, move down the pool to allow others to fish in turn.
- After finishing fishing a pool:
- Allow another angler to fish before returning to that pool.
- Avoid fishing the same pool together with a group of friends, especially in small pools.
- If an angler is fishing a pool from the opposite bank, do not fish in the same pool. Refer to Point 1 for guidance.
- If fishing alone and no other anglers are present, you may fish a pool or stretch multiple times.
Park responsibly, taking others into consideration, and do not obstruct gates or passageways. Always close gates and fencing after you. Do not trample fencing. Beware of livestock. Never take a dog fishing.
