General Updates
Evan Craig
2016-07-31
It's not all about the salmon...just take a look at this magnificent brown trout of over 4lbs recently caught by club member Evan Craig!! An absolute stonker of a fish which fell to the fly. Well done Evan, the smile says it all!!
Another Week Down
2016-07-28
Another week down and some excellent catches were made, particularly by visitors on day tickets. One gentleman and his friend had 5 fish between them to 17lbs and another visitor, Seamus Pyke, reported excellent sport with 5 fish landed. Seamus kindly sent us the attached video. Most fish encountered during the week were stale and returned to the river, with shrimp proving to be the most effective method. A few fresh fish up to 12lbs were also caught and seen running (including big MSW fish) so hopefully a more consistent run of autumn salmon is just around the corner. Finally, we would like to remind all BAA members that September is fly and spinner only on club waters.
Sewage Upgrade
2016-07-28
Same story, different week. Unfortunately we have had another week where no appreciable amount of rainfall has transpired. Be prepared for when it does eventually arrive!! A few more salmon were caught over the last few days, again mostly on the shrimp which has been the most successful method of the season so far.
On another note, thankfully Bandon is receiving an upgrade to its sewage system. In short, this will mean less leakage of sewage into the Bandon river, resulting in improved water quality for wild life and better drinking water for human consumption.

Dominic Moseley
2016-07-23
Mr. Dominic Moseley availed of our guiding service today and following some casting tuition was delighted to catch his first ever salmon,a 4lb grilse. Fishing was good along club waters, with a good few fish reported caught, including a couple fresh salmon. The river rose a few inches this afternoon and prospects for the rest of the week are fantastic.
Last week
2016-07-22
Word of a couple fish met this evening on the Bandon but tomorrow onwards will produce the goods, depending on how much rain falls tonight. Plenty of salmon in the river to catch and this should encourage a fresh autumn run into the system. Reflecting on the past week, fishing picked up over the weekend as a few salmon were caught, mostly on the fly. Well done to club member Nicholas Tattersall who caught 2 and lost a couple more over the weekend. Both on the fly and released.
